Agrow Plant Biotechnology Patent Watch publishes a monthly list of agricultural plant biotechnology patent applications published the previous calendar month by the US Patent and Trademark Office. Patent Watch is updated monthly, and annually with a review of the R&D activities of major agbiotech companies as evidenced by patent activity.
Patent applications are included on the basis that they concern:

• an isolated polynucleotide sequence from a plant;
• the insertion of a polynucleotide molecule into or the rearrangement of genetic material within a plant or plant part;
• methods of producing a plant or plant part using somatic cell fusion;
• new genetically modified plants
• the production of heterologous proteins, oils or other substances using recombinant DNA technology

The list is arranged by assignee name in order to facilitate analysis of company trends in research and development. Each entry includes application number, assignee name, filing and publication dates, subject of the application, and a synopsis of the claims made in the application document.
NB: Not all patent applications disclose an assignee. Therefore company or institution names within [ ] are the putative assignees, based on our best assessment of available data.
