Brazil will wait for further evidence on GM maize crops

Brazil has delayed decisions on the approval for marketing several genetically modified maize crops until August, the state news agency, the Agencia Brasil, reports. The national technical commission for biosafety, the CTNBio, will wait for further evidence before deciding whether to approve petitions for the sale of: Monsanto's glyphosate-tolerant and insect-resistant Guardian, and glyphosate-tolerant Roundup Ready2; and Syngenta's insect-resistant Bt11, glyphosate-tolerant GA21, and insect-resistant and glufosinate-tolerant ICP-4. ICP-4 maize incorporates the broad-spectrum insect resistance Vip3A gene, Syngenta says....
