BASF: new partnership

BASF and the US technology company, Cibus (San Diego, California), have agreed to develop non-genetically modified herbicide-tolerant oilseed rape/canola. BASF will apply Cibus' Rapid Trait Development System (RTDS) to accelerate the production of its imidazolinone-tolerant Clearfield oilseed rape/canola lines. The technology could be used to extend tolerance to other herbicides, but the BASF deal is confined to the Clearfield system, the multinational told Agrow. Imidazolinone-tolerant canola was introduced in Canada in 1995....
