AENDA: Agro- chemical sales in Brazil were down by 5.8% in 2006

Agrochemical sales in Brazil were down by 5.8% to $3,912 million in 2006, according to the Brazilian generic agrochemical industry association, the AENDA. The market has lost over an eighth of its value since 2004. The falling soybean area over the last two years and the lower incidence of Asian soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) has impacted on the national pesticide market, the association says.
