The closure will leave FMC with three plants in the US

FMC is to phase out operations at its US agrochemical manufacturing plant in Baltimore, Maryland, by March 2008. The facility manufactures active ingredients and intermediates for several of FMC's insecticides and one of its herbicides. All the products produced by the plant will be sourced from several of FMC's manufacturing alliance partners, the company says. The move is in line with FMC's strategy to "maintain globally cost-competitive manufacturing positions by sourcing raw materials, intermediates and finished products in lower-cost manufacturing locations," it adds....
