More than 35 GM crops await approval in the EU

The approval process for genetically modified crops in the EU is expected to remain slow, according to the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS). There are over 35 GM crops awaiting approval, with an increasing number of applications for cultivation. "Since the cultivation of biotech crops in Europe is now the most politically charged aspect of the biotech debate in Europe, the approval process is expected to continue at the current leisurely pace," the FAS comments....
