Glyphosate has become even more dominant in the US soybean herbicide market, according to the latest data by the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Survey. Various forms of glyphosate were applied to 97% of the soybean area surveyed in 2006, compared with 93% in the previous year (Agrow No 496, p 10). Usage of the second-largest soybean herbicide, 2,4-D, also expanded in 2006. Applications of 2,4-D and its salts were made on 10% of the surveyed area last year, compared with 6% in 2005....
