The agrochemical industry association, CropLife Malaysia, has hit out at claims of widespread use of illegal pesticides by the country's farmers. "Contrary to recent media reports, which implied otherwise, authentic vegetable farmers in Malaysia produce vegetables and fruit that comply with national and international food safety standards," the association maintains. Claims by the Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) that farmers were using banned pesticides imported from Thailand have sparked controversy in Malaysia....
