| EPA suggests risk-reduction options for soil fumigant cluster |
The US EPA has suggested a range of risk-reduction options for five soil fumigants: methyl bromide, metam sodium/potassium, dazomet, chloropicrin and 1,3-dichloropropene (1,3-D). The Agency decided to tackle these fumigants as a group in 2004 because of their similar use patterns (Agrow No 455, p 11). A registration decision on Arysta LifeScience's new fumigant, iodomethane, has been delayed pending the outcome of the assessment of the soil fumigant cluster (Agrow No 495, p 12)....
