New application

DuPont seed subsidiary Pioneer Hi-Bred International has applied for US approval of its genetically modified insect-resistant Optimum AcreMax 1 maize (Agrow No 538, p 5). The system combines DuPont/Dow AgroSciences' Herculex XTRA and Herculex I maize in the same bag of seed, thereby reducing the need to plant a separate refuge crop without resistance to corn rootworms (Diabrotica spp)....
