Indian Supreme Court allows further GM crop trials

India allows trials

The Indian Supreme Court has allowed the country's Genetic Engineering Approval Committee (GEAC) to consider applications and grant approvals for field trials of genetically modified crops. The ruling was delivered on a petition submitted by the independent activist, Aruna Rodrigues, and others pleading the court not to allow the GEAC to permit trials....
