Roundup spurs Latin America growth

Increased sales of Roundup (glyphosate) herbicide and maize seed in Latin America significantly contributed to a 36.4% rise in Monsanto's revenues to $2,099 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2008. The results for the three months to November 30th 2007 represent "a solid start to the fiscal year and highlight the performance of our Latin American business," says Monsanto's chairman, president and CEO, Hugh Grant. "With the most significant part of our annual business cycle still to come, we believe these results position us for another strong fiscal year for our business...."
