Roundup boosts Monsanto's sales

Strong maize seed and trait revenues and higher-than-expected demand for Roundup (glyphosate) herbicide resulted in a 17.4% increase in Monsanto's sales to $8,563 million in fiscal 2007. These gains were partially offset by lower revenues from the company's soybean and cotton seed businesses in the year ended August 31st 2007. Net income was up by 44.1% to $993 million....
