Lobbying for ai replacement, not a total ban on ais

The EU agrochemical industry has slammed a vote by the European Parliament's Environment Committee this month to ban active ingredients based on hazard criteria. The vote was on several changes the Committee wants to make to the European Commission's proposals for revising the EU agrochemical registration Directive (91/414 - Agrow No 524, p 10). The European Crop Protection Association (ECPA) calls the vote a "major setback" for sound science and rational decision making, while environmentalist groups praise the Committee for "greatly improving the Commission's original weak proposal"....
