Pesticide production in China accelerates

Pesticide production in China accelerated in the first half of 2007. Output totalled 855,500 tonnes, up by 25.6% on the first half of 2006, according to government figures quoted in China Chemical Reporter. The increase overtook the 20% growth rates seen in the first quarter of 2007 and the whole of 2006 (Agrow No 522, p 16). Companies continued to step up the pace of production despite the static domestic demand predicted for 2007 and a decline in exports in 2006 (Agrow ibid)....
