The ministry puts a limit on the use of fenthion

The Indian Ministry of Agriculture has banned the use of the organophosphate insecticide, fenthion, in agriculture, except for locust control in desert areas and public health. The OP insecticide, diazinon, has been banned from use in agriculture, but may still be used for household purposes. Use of the herbicide, metoxuron, has also been withdrawn. The decisions are the latest outcomes of a review started last year of 37 active ingredients that are restricted in some other countries (Agrow No 492, p 16)....
