Monsanto's maize gets the go-ahead

Brazil has provisionally approved its second genetically modified maize product, Monsanto's corn borer-resistant MON810. The national technical commission for biosafety, the CTNBio, gave the go-ahead at its August meeting. The approval requires ratification from the national biosafety council, the CNBS, which comprises officials from 11 Ministries. Monsanto applied for the approval eight years ago....
