The company plans to introduce the active ingredient in combination with prothioconazole under the Xpro range next year. Syngenta has received UK label extension approval for its insecticidal and fungicidal seed treatment, Cruiser (thiamethoxam 280 g/litre + fludioxonil 8 g/litre + metalaxyl-M 32.3 g/litre), to include the control of early season aphids on oilseed rape. The addition provides growers with “a tool to fight against turnip yellow virus (TuYV)”, the company says. Aphids are carriers of TuYV. Company trials have shown that untreated crops ended up with 90% TuYV infection.
Syngenta is launching the insecticide, Durivo (DuPont’s chlorantraniliprole 100 g/litre + thiamethoxam 200 g/litre), in Australia.
