Exwold Technology is a specialist
formulation and packaging
company based in the north
east of England. The company
provides a toll-formulation
service for extruded dispersible
and soluble granules (WG/SG) to
the global agchem industry.
The company has recently
installed a 2,000 litre drum
blender for impregnated and
coated granules (GRs) which
is equipped with an integral
packing line for 15-25kg
sack filling. The company can
offer developmental/QC and
pilot-scale facilities. Exwold
now operates from three sites
including a 70,000 sq ft
warehouse, which has higher tier
COMAH for storage of hazardous
chemicals. The site also serves
as the company’s head office.
Small packaging lines for 1-5kg
bag-in-box and larger 25kg,
100kg bulk bags are all located
at the Brenda Road site.
Exwold has recently announced
plans to build a new extrusion
granulation and packing plant
for high potency (sulfonylurea)
herbicides which will open in
Q2 of 2009. This plant will be
located on a separate new site in
the Hartlepool area.

business unit offers clients
20 years’ experience in toll
processing of WDG. The
company’s processing technique,
registered under the trade name
Granuflo, is based on the ‘spraydry’
method and produces the
best quality water-dispersible
granules available on the market.
Taminco has also invested
in the production of flowable
formulations both for seed
treatment and for foliar uses.
By making use of our Granuflo
or Flowable technology, clients
can outsource their existing or
develop their own WG, FS or
SC formulation. The process
includes an in-line filling system
into the end users’ packaging,
such as boxes, bags, drums or
cans. For new contracts, tailormade
formulations are developed
