Sumitomo Chemical has merged its three Indian subsidiaries, Sumitomo Chemical India, SC Enviro Agro India, and New Chemi Industries, to establish a new company under the name Sumitomo Chemical India (SCI - Mumbai). Indian agrochemical and fertiliser company Coromandel International (Secunderabad) has acquired a 67.75% stake in Indian agrochemical company Sabero Organics (Mumbai). That includes Sabero promoters’ stake of 36.75% and 31% of Sabero’s shares purchased from the open market at a price of Rs 160 ($2.9) per share. Chinese publicly listed group Chongqing Huapont Pharm has acquired a 7.5% stake in Brazilian agricultural inputs business CCAB Agro (Sao Paulo) for $20 million. CCAB Agro mainly markets pesticides and is composed of 16 farmer co-operatives in five major agricultural states. It is part of holding company CCAB Participações. Chinese chemical company Shanxi Thompson Biotechnology has entered into a merger with the Chinese agrochemical company, Shaanxi Hanzhong chemical pesticide. The latter company, which has a registered capital of Yuan 2 million ($300,000), will be amalgamated into Shanxi Thompson Biotechnology, which has a registered capital of Yuan 10.1 million ($1.6 million), and whose name will not change.
