Chemist with vast experience in Agrochemical Formulation

Our top line formulation plant and laboratories, matched with our technical leadership in pest management, enable us to contribute with high quality, effective and competitive agrochemicals for thousands of farmers.

We are seeking a Chemist to lead the Agrochemical Development Area, actively participating with the Production Plant, Registry Division and Quality Control Laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of agrochemicals in a wide spectrum of formulations.
  • Develop products starting from a pilot scale, actively participating in the scale-up design process to successfully achieve industrial production.
  • Supervise a team of chemists and technicians to develop new formulations of agrochemicals.
  • Provide support about chemical issues related to crop protection and agrochemical application. Ocassionally participate in marketing activities as a speaker in chemistry applied to pest management topics.

Qualifications

  • BSc. degree in Chemistry. Although not required, a MSc. or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry is desired.
  • At least 10 years of practical experience in formulation development of agrochemical products.
  • Excelent interpersonal relations, problem solving ability and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English. A good command of Spanish is a plus.

Role purpose: In this role you will lead and manage a team of experienced professionals

Accountabilities

  • To provide expertise, advice and advocacy skills in the area of chemistry and regulatory compliance to business partners

    chemicals management and identify capability gaps and development needs
  • To maintain an awareness of databases on substances and issues, use this knowledgeto identify opportunities and promote optimal positioning of Syngenta products

Role Skills, experience
