Bayer CropScience and the French genomics company, Cellectis (Paris), are using Meganuclease technology to develop new crops.

The Meganucleases, a proprietary genome engineering technology developed by Cellectis, allow precise “editing” of genetic sequences by binding and cutting at a single point in a chosen genome. ”This new programme comforts our presence in the agrobiotech field,” says David Sourdice, vice-president of corporate development at Cellectis. Cellectis and Bayer have been collaborating together since 2006.
