15 additional patent applications of which 12 were related to
fungicide/insecticide active ingredients and three to fungicide/ herbicides.
Agrow Intelligence examined a selection of 107 patent applications published
during the month, from a total of 14 companies and organisations.

Bayer CropScience was in the lead again with 49 published patent applications, of which 12 were fungicidal, 16 insecticidal and ten herbicidal in nature, with an additional ten related to dual-targeted fungicidal/insecticidal action and one fungicide/herbicide patent application. BASF followed with five fungicide-related, five insecticide-related and eight herbicide-related patent applications along with two fungicide/insecticide and two fungicide/herbicide patent applications. Dow AgroSciences was third in line with a total of nine patent applications published, Syngenta had seven and Sumitomo Chemical had four.

Particular activity was noticed this month with five patent applications about a fungicide/ insecticide mixture of a dithiino-tetracarboximide derivative and an insecticide compound from Bayer. Another five patent applications from Bayer were published on a herbicidal combination with dimethoxy-triazinyl-substituted difluoromethane sulfonyl anilides. Four patent applications from BASF were published on a fungicide combination containing a Bacillus subtilis strain and a chemical compound from either the azole family or the strobilurin family.
